• How Long Will A Juvéderm Injection Last?

    on Feb 4th, 2019

Aging is inevitable. And with it can come many undesirable changes in the way you look and feel. If you’ve started to see some of the youthfulness in your face disappear, it’s normal to wish you could have it back.

You may notice more fine lines or wrinkles, a lack of plumpness in your cheeks, and thinning lips. But don’t feel discouraged if you don’t like what you see.

Juvéderm® treatments can help you combat the signs of aging by adding volume to your face, smoothing lines, and plumping your lips. And results can last a year or longer.

Imad El Asmar, MD, and his staff at Vermont Med Spa in Los Angeles are highly trained in using Juvéderm fillers. The team will work with you to determine which Juvéderm products will provide you with the most effective and long-lasting results.

How Juvéderm works

Dr. El Asmar uses Juvéderm fillers to address volume loss in the face. Volume loss usually occurs due to aging, but it can also occur because of genetics, weight loss, hormonal changes, and other factors.

As you age, your skin loses some of the hyaluronic acid and collagen that give it structure. This results in more noticeable lines around the nose and mouth, sagging cheeks, and thinning lips.

Juvéderm fillers contain a modified form of hyaluronic acid, which can help give your face volume. Each Juvéderm treatment comes in the form of an injectable gel, which can target different areas on your face.

The treatment process

For your treatment, Dr. El Asmar first reviews your medical history and conducts an analysis of your face. He then discusses the areas you’d like to treat and determines which Juvéderm products could meet your needs.

Dr. El Asmar may recommend multiple procedures so you can get the best results. Juvéderm treatments usually take about an hour, during which he injects the filler into the treatment area.

Juvéderm contains a numbing agent, which will reduce pain at the injection site. Dr. El Asmar also offers other anesthetic options to make the procedure comfortable for you. You may notice redness, pain, and swelling in the treatment area for up to four weeks after the procedure.

Expected results

For optimal results, you may need more than one treatment. Fortunately, results should start appearing almost immediately, and they should be fully visible after a few weeks. Cheeks should appear fuller, lines and wrinkles around your nose and mouth should appear smoother, and your lips should look plumper.

These results can last a year or longer. Because each Juvéderm filler has been specially formulated to address different concerns, results will vary. Overall, most treatments will last 1-2 years. In a clinical trial, 90% of people reported that they were satisfied with their appearance six months after treatment. And 75% people reported that they were still satisfied two years after treatment.

Many patients also report that the results appear natural and that they look 3-5 years younger. Along with improving how you look, the treatment can also go a long way toward boosting your self-confidence.

There’s no need to feel frustrated with sagging cheeks, deepening wrinkles, and thinning lips. You can reverse the appearance of these common signs of aging with a Juvéderm treatment. To learn more, book an appointment online or over the phone with Vermont Med Spa today.
